In light of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, a new directive has been issued regarding the movement of trucks and covered vans on highways.

For the safety and convenience of travelers during the busy holiday period, the movement of such vehicles will be halted from March 25 to 28, as well as for three days following the Eid holiday.

According to a notice signed by Jasim Uddin, Assistant Secretary of the Road Transport and Highways Department, the decision was made after a meeting chaired by the advisor of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Ministry of Railways.

The meeting, held on March 9, was held to ensure smooth and safe transportation for passengers during Eid, especially on roads, bridges, and railways.

The restriction will apply to trucks, covered vans, and lorries.

However, essential goods vehicles—carrying food items, perishable goods, medicines, fertilizers, fuel, and garments—will be allowed to continue operating.

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) is expected to issue a public notice to ensure everyone is aware of the new restrictions during this busy travel period.
