Munshiganj science teacher Hridoy Chandra Mandal has been acquitted by the court from the case filed for alegedly defaming religion.
Judge Jashita Islam of Munshiganj Court-1 passed the order around 11am on Wednesday.
Hridoy Mandal's lawyer Shaheen Mohammad Amanullah confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He was was arrested on March 22, two days after a conversation between a student and him over science and religion, which was recorded by the student.
Later, the student spread the conversation's recoding over social media platforms, leading to his arrest.
Hridoy secured bail upon a bond of Tk 5,000 on April 10 .
