The Cabinet Division has formed a five-member high-level committee to investigate the recent stone looting incident at the Sadapathor tourist site in Sylhet and to determine whether any negligence occurred on the part of the authorities.
The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 10 days, including recommendations to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
The panel is headed by the Secretary of Reforms and Coordination of the Cabinet Division, with the Additional Commissioner (Revenue) of Sylhet appointed as the member-secretary.
Authorities have emphasized that the committee must complete its inquiry and submit findings within the next 10 working days.
