India will start issuing tourist visas for Bangladeshi citizens on November 15, said the Indian high commissioner Vikram Doraiswami.
He said this while talking to newsmen at Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday (November 9).
“The tourist visa will be reopened on a limited scale. However, the visa will only permit air travel with a 120—day validity. The visitors will be allowed to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days,” Doraiswami said.
Asked on why visas will be given for air travel the high commissioner said, “The pandemic is still ramping up. Therefore, only air travel will be permitted. Road and railway will be restored if the situation returns normalcy.”
