Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday staged a mass rally in Dhaka condemning what it described as a US-Israeli attack on Iran and the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The protest began at around 3:00pm at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, drawing thousands of party leaders and activists.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer ATM Azharul Islam denounced the attack, calling it an assault not only on Iran and the Muslim world but also on democracy, humanity and human rights. He said those who believe in democratic values must speak out against such actions.

Azharul urged the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to take effective steps in response, warning that prolonged instability in the Middle East could have far-reaching consequences, including for countries like Bangladesh.

He also called for an immediate end to hostilities to safeguard global peace and stability.

Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Publicity Affairs Secretary Advocate Motiur Rahman Akand, and Nurul Islam Bulbul, MP, also addressed the rally, echoing calls for international action and an end to the conflict.
