According to the notice, Sarjis has been asked to offer an unconditional written apology to the Chief Justice through the Registrar General of the Supreme Court.

Additionally, he has been instructed to publicly apologize to the people of the country via a press conference within two hours. Failure to comply will lead to a contempt of court case against him.

The lawyer confirmed that the notice was sent both by postal mail and through WhatsApp to Sarjis Alam.

The notice further states that after the High Court rejected a writ petition challenging the election tribunal’s verdict and the Election Commission‍‍`s gazette declaring Ishraque Hossain as Mayor of Dhaka South, Sarjis posted a reaction on his verified Facebook account at 11:49 a.m. This comment, which was later picked up by the media, has been deemed disrespectful to the judiciary and a potential act of contempt of court.
