The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has dropped by Tk 1 for the month of November. The new price is Tk 1,455, down from Tk 1,456 last month.
This price change will start from this evening, according to the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
The price per kilogram of LPG is now Tk 121.25, down from Tk 121.32 in October.
While the price of the 12kg cylinder has slightly decreased, the prices of other LPG cylinders — ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg — will increase based on their size.
So, smaller and larger cylinders will cost more this month.
In addition, the price of "auto gas" (LPG used for vehicles) has been set at Tk 66.81 per litre for November.
This is important news for vehicle owners who use LPG as fuel, as it reflects the new official price for auto gas in Bangladesh.
This price change follows a price increase in October.
The price of a 12kg LPG cylinder went up by Tk 35 last month, rising from Tk 1,421 in September to Tk 1,456 in October. The increase was due to rising global LPG prices.
Although this month’s price drop is small, it gives a bit of relief to consumers, especially for those who rely on LPG for cooking at home.
LPG is an essential energy source for many households in Bangladesh.
The BERC`s job is to regulate LPG prices and make sure they don’t go up too much at once.
They try to keep the prices fair, while also balancing the costs of importing and distributing LPG.
LPG prices have been rising in the past few months, and this can be linked to changes in the international market, which affects prices locally.
As the weather cools down in Bangladesh, more people will use LPG for cooking and heating, so it’s important to keep an eye on any future price changes.
For those who use LPG in their vehicles, the new price of auto gas, Tk 66.81 per litre, may offer some savings compared to traditional fuels like petrol and diesel, which have been more expensive recently.
In conclusion, while the price drop is small, it’s a step in the right direction for LPG users.
The BERC continues to monitor LPG prices to make sure they stay fair, even though global energy prices can change unexpectedly.
