The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr was held at the National Eidgah. The congregation starts at 8:30 this morning. Prayers are held for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the country.
President Md. Abdul Hamid prayed with people from all walks of life there. After the prayer, he exchanged Eid greetings with everyone at the Eidgah. Apart from the President, State Minister for Religion, Faridul Haque Khan, present Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas, Members of Parliament, political leaders, and high-ranking civil-military officials were also present at the National Eidgah.
Earlier, at around 8:30 AM, a long queue of people was seen in front of the main gate of the National Eidgah Maidan.
The law and order forces members allowed people to enter the Eidgah grounds after scanning them. An adequate number of plainclothes police were deployed along with uniformed police. The entire area is monitored through CCTV cameras.
Arrangements were made for about 35,000 people to perform Eid prayers at the National Eidgah Maidan. There was also an arrangement for a separate prayer place for women.
