Motorcyclist crashed by oil lorry in Banasree

A motorbike rider has been killed after an oil lorry crashed him at Rampura Banasree in the capital.

The incident occurred around 6:30 am in front of Farazi Hospital at Banasree Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abu Naser Patwary (38), hails from Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali and son of Abu Taher Patwary.

His brother Yasin Patwary said, Abu Naser was working as a manager of Chittagong Bull Hotel and Restaurant at Gulshan. He used to live with his family at Lalmia lane in Meradia. Naser was survived by his two daughters and a son with his wife.

“Abu Naser was crashed under the oil lorry while he was going to his workplace from his residence early Friday. The lorry hit him from behind. The body has been sent to hospital for autopsy,” Sub-Inspector Shahriar Hossain of Rampura police station told media.

The lorry has been sieged. Driver Nurul Islam (42) and his assistant Imran (22) have been held, Shahriar Hossain added.
