Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam said that he may resign this month to take part in the creation of a new political party.
He mentioned it in a conversation with a private television channel, and said that he and other student representatives serving as advisers might declare their resignations in the near future to join the party`s establishment process.
In September, students initiated the Jatiya Nagorik Committee to revitalize the country through consensus.
This committee is currently spearheading the efforts to establish a new political party, which is anticipated to be officially unveiled later this month.
"There are conversations about creating a new political party led by students or figures from the mass uprising. However, it`s not feasible to be a part of such a party while still being in government," Nahid Islam remarked in his interview with Ekattor TV.
"If I conclude that working directly with the populace is more crucial than my position in government, I will resign and assist in the formation of the party," he continued.
He also stated that a final decision about his resignation would be publicly announced in the coming days.
Acknowledging the distinctions between creating a political party and participating in electoral politics, he highlighted that they are entering the political arena fully conscious of these challenges.
The official launch of the new party is expected to occur before the end of February.
