The Saudi government has issued new guidelines for the passengers willing to perform Hajj and Umrah. This information was revealed in a circular of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The circular reads that any passenger carrying 70,000 Saudi riyals or more in cash, gold and belongings in order to perform Hajj and Umrah must be notified in written to the relevant authority of that country.
The circular recently signed by Abul Kashem Muhammad Shahin, the deputy secretary of the of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, also reads that an electrical voucher will be collected by the passengers before departure.
In case of any violation of the rules, the passenger must face trial under local law of Saudi administration.
It further reads that Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are allowed to take only a few medicines as per their doctor's prescription.
The circular also mentions that carrying hats, tobacco, drugs and other items without doctor’s advice for commercial purposes is a punishable crime.
