Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday has directed the authorities concerned not to take up any kind of development project on the three-cropping lands.
The premier came up with the directives on Monday.while chairing the Cabinet Committee meeting held at her office (Prime Minister’s office-PMO)
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain told the reporters at Bangladesh Secretariat.
“The premier has given a clear directive that no triple cropping land can be destroyed. No project can be taken on triple cropping lands. Rather these lands will have to be protected,” said Cabinet Secretary.
Mentionanig that Various applications are being received for development projects on three -crop lands, the cabinet secretary said. “Prime Minister has made directives that no development project can be taken up by destroying three-crop lands. We will inform everyone about this by letter.”
“The government will now monitor the matter of protecting triple-cropping land regularly,” he added.
