Veteran Bangladeshi actress Rina Rahman, a familiar face on both small and the big screen, has passed away. She breathed her last at around 9:00 pm on Monday (August 3), leaving the country`s cultural and entertainment community in mourning.
Rina Rahman began her acting career in 1972 with the stage play E Bari O Bari. Over the course of a career spanning more than five decades, she appeared in more than a hundred standalone television dramas, numerous serials, telefilms, and feature films.
Among her most notable works were the iconic BTV drama series Sangsaptak (1987), the popular serial Man Abhiman, and the films Thikana (1994) and Ghani (2006). Her memorable performances earned her a lasting place in the hearts of audiences.
Rahman remained active in acting until her death. She was most recently appearing in the popular drama series Parampara, aired on Deepto TV. Colleagues said that despite her age, her passion and dedication to acting never diminished.
News of her passing prompted an outpouring of tributes on social media from fellow actors, admirers, and countless fans. Many remembered her for her humility, warmth, and unwavering commitment to her craft.
