President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will offer Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the main congregation at the National Eidgah in Dhaka, scheduled to begin at 8:30am.
State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam confirmed the arrangement while briefing reporters after inspecting preparations at the venue.
He said the congregation will be special this year as both the President and the Prime Minister are expected to attend the same Eid prayer gathering after a long time.
According to officials, the main congregation is being organised by Dhaka City Corporation. Preparations have been completed to accommodate tens of thousands of worshippers.
Dhaka City Corporation Administrator Abdus Salam said the Eidgah ground can host around 35,000 devotees, with separate prayer arrangements for women.
Facilities for ablution, drinking water, medical services and fire safety have also been arranged.
He added that carpets and tarpaulins have been laid across the ground, while fans, lighting and backup power supply have been installed to ensure comfort for worshippers.
Security and logistical arrangements have been coordinated by relevant authorities, with multiple entry points set up for the public and a separate access route through the Supreme Court premises for VVIPs.
Senior government officials, including the home secretary, Dhaka divisional commissioner and acting commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, were present during the inspection of the preparations.
