Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif has urged BNP to sit in dialogue instead of spreading falsification and confusion regarding the formulation of Election Commission (EC).
He was addressing a discussion organized by ‘Banglar Mukh’ marking the cultural body’s 32nd founding day at the Jatiya Press Club on Tuesday (December 21).
“We would like to request BNP to refrain from spreading falsification and confusion regarding the dialogue called by President Abdul Hamid to form the election commission. Place your opinion before him,” Hanif said.
“If you have any worthy suggestion, the president can consider it. Give advice. The democratic way president opted to form EC, is the best way. He (president) is holding meeting with all political parties in his way,” Hanif furthered.
Expressing optimism over the formulation the Election Commission Act next year the ruling party leader said, “Our president picked the best way to forge a fresh commission. The EC will be formed based on opinion of the political parties. This is the democratic way.”
