The retail price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Bangladesh has been revised downward.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced on Sunday (August 3) that the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been reduced by Tk 91, setting the new price at Tk 1,273 for consumers.
In addition to household LPG, the price of autogas has also been reduced by Tk 4.18 per litre, bringing it down to Tk 58.28 per litre. The newly adjusted rates will come into effect from Sunday evening.
Just a month earlier, on July 2, BERC had decreased the price of the 12kg LPG cylinder by Tk 39, fixing it at Tk 1,364. At that time, the price of autogas was also cut by Tk 1.84, bringing it to Tk 62.46 per litre.
The regular price adjustments are based on fluctuations in the international market, particularly Saudi CP (contract price), which Bangladesh uses as a benchmark for setting LPG prices.
