BNP’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has called for an urgent meeting of the party’s National Standing Committee to be held tonight (Monday, January 6).

The meeting will take place at 8:30 PM at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka.

BNP’s media cell member, Shairul Kabir Khan, confirmed the development to Channel 24. According to him, the meeting is being arranged ahead of Begum Khaleda Zia’s upcoming medical trip.

During the session, the party is expected to discuss important strategies and possibly make key decisions about their next steps.

Begum Khaleda Zia is scheduled to leave for London on Tuesday at 10 PM via a specialized air ambulance from Qatar.

Supporters have been advised to avoid large gatherings at the airport. However, it remains uncertain whether senior leaders of the party will be there to bid her farewell.

This meeting is seen as a crucial step for BNP, as the party navigates its future plans while preparing for Khaleda Zia’s departure for treatment.
