Four people were killed and another two injured in separate road accidents in Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Panchagarh on Tuesday.
In Chattogram, the casualties came as a stone-laden truck hit a three-wheeler near Kerhat Forest Office area of Mirsarai upazila.
The deceased were three-wheeler passenger Md Rubel, 30, resident of Gheramara village of Karerhat union and three-wheeler driver Md. Yusuf, 26, of the same union.
The accident occurred at around 1.30 pm in Gheramara area of the union.
Sub-inspector (SI) of Jorarganj Police Station Sufal Chandra said that two people died on the spot when a mini-truck loaded with stones hit a three-wheeler.
Two people injured in the accident were sent to the hospital. One of them is in a critical condition, he said.
Police seized the truck and the three-wheeler but the truck driver managed to flee, he added.
In Cox's Bazar, a pedestrian named Qurban Ali, 28, was killed in Ramu upazila.
He was rammed over by a Cox's Bazar-bound truck around 2:30pm, said highway police.
The truck was seized, but none could be detained immediately over the accident.
In Panchagarh, a 50-year-old biker died while his son riding pillion was injured after being hit by a speeding truck on Panchagarh-Dhaka highway in Tetulia upazila.
The deceased Zahirul Islam was a resident of Lohakachi village of the upazila.
The agitated people blocked the road after the accident. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Abu Sayeem Miah, officer-in-charge of Tetulia Model police station.
The injured Enamul was admitted to Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital. However, the truck driver managed to flee, he added.
