Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader, has reassured the public that there is no reason for unrest across the entire hill region.
During the virtual inauguration of several infrastructure projects on Saturday morning, Quader made these remarks from the secretariat, emphasizing the need for peace and stability in the hilly areas of Bangladesh.
Addressing concerns about recent violence, Quader mentioned the existence of a KNF base in the neighboring Chin State, near the China-India border. He noted ongoing investigations into the sudden outbreak of violence despite prior discussions with the group.
Responding to queries regarding the Bam population in Mizoram, Quader suggested a possible connection with separatist terrorist organizations across the border. He affirmed that investigations are underway to unveil the truth behind the situation.
"I don`t know if there is a relationship with Mizoram. Support may come from a separatist terrorist organization across the border. An investigation is now underway. All truth will come out," Quader stated in response to reporters.
The Minister`s remarks underscore the government`s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the hilly regions while addressing concerns surrounding recent incidents of violence.
At the opening ceremony, Obaidul Quader highlighted the completion of a railway overpass, seven additional overpasses, and a bridge along the Elenga-Hatikumrul-Rangpur highway in Tangail, accomplished under two consecutive projects.
Simultaneously, the Minister inaugurated the Meghna Bridge Toll Plaza-2 and launched the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) program across all lanes of the Dhaka-Chittagong National Highway toll plaza.
