The Bangladesh Jewellers` Association (Bajus) decided to sell a bhori of 11.664 grammes of gold at over Tk 1.09 lakh starting tomorrow, setting a new record for the already soaring rates of gold.
The association released a statement after the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of Bajus made the decision in a meeting today, citing an increase in the price of pure gold.
Each bhori of 22-carat gold ornaments currently costs Tk 1.08 lakh.
In July, the price of gold in Bangladesh surpassed Tk 100,000 for the first time.
