In a significant development, a total of 37,000 metric tons of rice imported from India and Myanmar have just reached Chittagong.
The Ministry of Food shared this news on Wednesday, January 29.
According to the ministry, 22,000 metric tons of Atap rice arrived from Myanmar under a government-to-government agreement.
The rice was brought in by the ship ‘MV ATN Victory.’
Alongside, 15,000 metric tons of boiled rice were imported from India through an open tender, delivered by the ship ‘MV BMC Pendora.’
The Ministry of Food also reassured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the quick unloading of the rice at Chittagong port.
