Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is sending mangoes as gifts to the heads of state and government of several South Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives, according to government sources.
The recipients of the mango gifts include Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Gifts are also being sent to the King and Prime Minister of Bhutan, the President, Vice President, and Prime Minister of Nepal, and the President of the Maldives.
The mango consignments are expected to reach their destinations within the next few days, depending on flight schedules, the source added.
In addition, on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Advisor, mangoes are also being sent as gifts to the foreign ministers of these countries and to several Indian state chief ministers.
Tripura’s Chief Minister has already received a gift box of the popular ‘Himsagar’ variety, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also expected to receive a mango gift soon.
