India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning to pay his final respects to former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
He reached the capital at around 11:30am on a special aircraft of the Indian Air Force, which landed at Bashar Air Base.
Upon arrival, Jaishankar was received by Foreign Ministry Secretary M Farhad Hossain and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma.
The visit reflects India’s expression of condolence following the death of former prime minister Khaleda Zia.
