Pakistan’s Ishaq Dar holds phone talks with Bangladesh FM

Seeking stronger cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rehman, felicitating him on his recent appointment.

Both leaders expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral ties, with a shared vision of peace, stability, and prosperity, said the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

They also agreed to expand cooperation across diverse sectors and in multilateral fora, building a forward-looking partnership for the peoples of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

 

Meanwhile, Pakistan High Commissioner in Dhaka Imran Haider, during his meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman conveyed his government’s keen interest in working closely with the new government of Bangladesh to further strengthen and broaden bilateral cooperation.

The Foreign Minister expressed the intent of the government to explore new avenues of collaboration for the welfare of the peoples of both countries, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also underscored Bangladesh’s priority of strengthening regional cooperation for the benefit of the people of all countries of the South Asian region.

The envoy also met State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam.
