Bangladesh has expressed strong support for the United Arab Emirates amid ongoing regional tensions during a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Wednesday evening, where he delivered a personal message from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The letter, addressed to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, conveyed Bangladesh’s “firm solidarity” with the UAE leadership, government and its people in the current situation.

In the message, the prime minister expressed concern over recent attacks, including loss of lives and damage to property. He also thanked the UAE for hosting a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates and ensuring their safety.

Bangladesh reiterated its willingness to extend support if needed and invited the UAE president to visit the country.

During the meeting, the UAE foreign minister expressed condolences over the deaths of two Bangladeshi nationals in recent incidents and assured continued efforts to protect all residents.

Both sides discussed bilateral relations, describing ties as strong and expressing interest in further cooperation across different sectors.
