India keen to work with Bangladesh in ‘positive, constructive manner’: Pranay Verma

India has reaffirmed its willingness to work with Bangladesh in a positive and forward-looking manner, focusing on mutual interest and shared benefits.

The message was conveyed by Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma during a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at his office on Monday.

According to officials, the meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral engagement, with emphasis on people-centric cooperation aligned with the development priorities of both countries.

The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including public health, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, rural development, trade and investment, ease of doing business, technology collaboration, and power and energy.

The envoy stressed the importance of using the two countries’ geographical proximity to expand economic opportunities, improve connectivity and deepen cultural and people-to-people relations.

Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir, and Indian Deputy High Commissioner Pawan Badhe were also present at the meeting.
Officials said both sides expressed interest in further strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.
