The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Dhaka and nine other districts, indicating the potential for strong winds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour. Along with the gusty winds, thunderstorms and rain are also expected.
This forecast is valid until 1 PM on Sunday, May 19, for the country`s inland river ports.
According to the weather bulletin, districts including Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Comilla, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox`s Bazar, and Sylhet might experience temporary gusts or squalls moving from the west or northwest at speeds ranging between 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.
The bulletin states, "There may be rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds." The river ports in these areas have been advised to display cautionary signal number 1.
Residents and authorities in the affected districts are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during these weather conditions.
