The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations scheduled for July 24 have been postponed, according to an official from the Office of the Chief Adviser.
As per the original exam routine, students were set to sit for Economics (First Paper) and Engineering Drawing and Workshop Practice (First Paper) on that day.
Earlier, Tuesday’s (July 22) HSC and equivalent exams were also postponed in light of the tragic incident at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara, where a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into a school building, resulting in mass casualties.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed the decision through a post from his verified Facebook account around 7:15 AM today.
According to the schedule, today’s exams included Chemistry (Theory) Second Paper, Islamic History and Culture Second Paper, History Second Paper, Home Management and Family Life Second Paper, and Production Management and Marketing Second Paper.
The crash occurred around 1 PM on Monday when an F-7 BGI fighter aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into a building at Milestone School and College. The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) reported that at least 31 people were killed and over 150 injured in the incident.
In response, the government has declared Tuesday as a day of national mourning.
