Nearly 7 lakh students fail SSC and equivalent exams

The number of students failing this year‍‍`s SSC and equivalent examinations has reached 6,90,608, with the overall pass rate falling to 62.25 percent.

The results, announced on Monday, show a clear decline from last year‍‍`s performance. 

The average pass rate across the 11 education boards was 68.45 percent in 2025, meaning it fell by 6.2 percentage points this year.

Of the 18,29,485 students who took part in the examinations, 11,38,877 were successful.

Education Minister Dr Ehsanul Haque Milon announced the results at a press briefing at the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education at around 10am.

The SSC and equivalent examinations started on April 21 and ended on May 20.
