A man named Monirul Islam Fela (45) was brutally murdered in broad daylight at his home in Madhabpur village of Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga district. The incident took place around 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 26.
Monirul, son of the late Didar Ali, had recently moved from Balihuda village and started living near Madhabpur High School after purchasing a plot of land and building a house. He earned his livelihood through farming, banana trading, and daily labor.
According to local sources and police, unidentified assailants entered Monirul’s residence around midday and slit his throat before fleeing the scene. Neighbors later discovered his bloodied body inside the house and immediately informed the police.
Responding to the call, Jibannagar police recovered the body and, after preparing an inquest report, sent it to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge of Jibannagar Police Station, Mamun Hossain Biswas, said the motive behind the murder remains unclear. No family members of the victim were found at the house at the time of the body’s recovery. He added that multiple police teams are actively investigating the case to uncover the motive and identify those responsible.
