Two injured students are being discharged today from the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, while 36 patients remain admitted under treatment, according to Acting Director Professor Dr. Md Nasir Uddin.
He shared the update during a press briefing held at the institute on Saturday (July 26).
Dr. Nasir said, “Unfortunately, two more patients succumbed to their injuries in the last 24 hours. As we had previously informed, we are beginning the discharge process today. In line with that, two children will be released shortly. We hope to discharge another ten patients by next week.”
Providing details on the current condition of the patients, he stated that four are in critical condition while nine others are severely burned. He also mentioned that a specialized medical board, comprising both local and foreign doctors, has been formed for ongoing treatment.
“To ensure uninterrupted care, we’ve already stocked up on all necessary medications,” added the director.
