Malaysia's immigration department has detained 129 illegal immigrants, including Bangladeshis. They were arrested on Monday (November 22) night during a raid by the Malaysian Immigration Department at a machine parts factory in Balakong.
Immigration director Datuk Khairul Dazaimi Dawood said the operation began around 8pm on Monday.
After checking the documents of 134 immigrants, 110 men and 19 women aged 20 to 49 working in the factory have been held.
Those arrested include workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Nepal.
Khairul Dazaimi said that under Section 6 (1) (c) of the Immigration Act 1959/73, legal action would be taken against the employer for keeping illegal workers and a fine of 5,000 Ringgit would be imposed.
