Manik Saha took oath as the chief minister of north eastern Indian state of Tripura on Sunday, a day after Biplab Deb stepped down amid feud in the party.
A professor of dental surgery, 69-year-old Saha is expected to lead Tripura`s ruling BJP in the assembly polls early next year.
Saha joined BJP in 2016 after resigning from Congress. He was made in-charge of the party`s membership drive in 2018 before the state went to the assembly elections, in which the saffron party defeated the CPI(M).
