Qatar has strongly condemned an attack on its Ras Laffan Industrial City, describing it as a “dangerous escalation” that threatens regional stability.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the strike was an unacceptable violation and accused Iran of attempting to widen the conflict across the region.

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani warned that continued hostilities and any expansion of the war would only deepen instability, stressing that maintaining regional security is a shared responsibility.

The incident follows Israeli strikes on Iran’s South Pars gas field earlier in the week, after which Tehran launched retaliatory attacks targeting energy facilities, including the complex in Qatar.

Authorities in Qatar said most of the incoming threats were intercepted, though some installations were hit.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Tensions have also surged across the Gulf, with several countries reporting missile and drone activity within a short span.

The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems were engaged in intercepting incoming threats, while Kuwait reported explosions linked to its defence operations and advised residents to follow safety guidelines.

Saudi Arabia said it intercepted multiple drones over its eastern region, and Bahrain activated emergency sirens, urging people to take shelter.

Officials in Bahrain later said falling debris from intercepted projectiles caused a fire at a warehouse.

The latest developments highlight growing fears of a wider regional conflict as hostilities intensify across the Gulf.
