Following weeks of political unrest, Mr. Rishi Sunak will meet opposition lawmakers in parliament for the first time on Wednesday as the British prime minister.
It comes after he took power as the first British leader of colours on Tuesday, vowing to repair the harm done by departing leader Liz Truss` failed budget, which caused economic disaster.
Mr. Sunak began his tenure by reappointing a number of ministers from his predecessor`s senior team, promising to help unite his divided Conservatives and an increasingly unimpressed country.
Jeremy Hunt was kept on as the Chancellor of the Exchequer by the former finance minister in an attempt to keep the markets on his side after his first appointment almost two weeks ago stabilized the situation.
Along with Suella Braverman, the recently ousted home secretary, he also controversially retained Ms. Truss`s ministries for foreign, defense, trade, and culture.
