On Wednesday, BNP decided to defer its grand rally, scheduled for Thursday, to Friday.
BNP wanted to hold the grand rally in Dhaka’s Nayapaltan area as it was unwilling to hold the programme at Golapbagh ground as suggested by the police authorities, said Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir while speaking at a press briefing held at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office.
The massive peace rally by three associate wings of ruling Awami League – Juba League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League – is aimed at protesting alleged attacks on their leaders and activists in different parts of the country. It was suggested by the DMP to organize this programme at old trade-fair ground of city` Agargaon.
