Police have seized 16 crude bombs from a flat in Mizan Tower, Kalyanpur, Dhaka.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted the operation after receiving a tip-off. According to Masuk Mia, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police for DMP`s Mirpur Division, a bomb-like object was first discovered in the flat.
The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) was then called in, leading to the recovery of the 16 crude bombs.
The CTTC`s bomb disposal team safely defused the bombs in the vacant grounds of Kalyanpur Girls` School.
No arrests or detentions have been made as those present fled the scene when the raid was initiated. The investigation is still ongoing.
Mishuk Chakma, Deputy Commissioner of Police for the CTTC Unit, confirmed that the bombs were defused on the school grounds next to the incident site.
