A fire that started late on Thursday at a tin-shed warehouse in the Suritola neighborhood of Nawabpur, Dhaka, has been taken under control by fire service at around 11:45 pm.
Total 14 fire fighting units were able to bring the massive blaze at the plastic factory under control.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) directorate, army personnel had been sent to fight the fire.
As soon as they learned about the incident at 10:08 pm, they hurried to the scene, according to Md Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director (media cell) of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Fire service got information from locals after thick smoke started coming out from Ayub Bhaban beside Nawabpur Tower, he added.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, and the source of the fire could not be determined.
Concerns regarding fire safety have been raised by similar accidents in Dhaka and other regions of the nation, with a large fire destroying the Bangabazar wholesale garment market on April 4.
