The council of advisers of the interim government has approved a 10-day holiday to mark the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
The decision was made during a meeting of the advisory council held at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The announcement was later confirmed via the verified Facebook page of Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor.
Speaking to the media, Shafiqul Alam confirmed the decision.
Earlier this year, during Eid-ul-Fitr, the government observed a stretch of nine consecutive holidays from March 28 to April 5. Initially, five days were declared as official holidays, with one additional day added through an executive order.
Notably, March 26 —Independence and National Day — also fell within this period. Offices were open for just one day, March 27, before the extended Eid-ul-Fitr break began.
