A Dhaka court today extended Amatullah Bushra bail till March 16 in a case over the death of her friend Fardin Noor, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
Bushra was jailed for two months following Fardin's death in November 2022. But later she was cleared of murder charges by the detective branch (DB).
However, today the court extended her ad-interim bail till March 16, the next date of hearing in the case.
Meanwhile, Fardin's father filed a petition against the DB report clearing Bushra of murder charges.
On January 8, Bushra was granted bail by a Dhaka court until the submission of the probe report in the case.
Fardin, a third-year student of civil engineering, was found dead in the Shitalakkhya on November 7.
After over a month, the DB and Rab on December 11 said Fardin died by suicide after jumping off a bridge into the river.
DB chief Mohammad Harun ur Rashid said they did not find Bushra's involvement in the incident.
