Clashes erupted between police and protesters in Thakurgaon town on Wednesday afternoon as part of the "March for Justice" program. The protesters, who were demonstrating with red cloths tied around their foreheads, staged a sit-in at the "Oporajeyo-71" monument at Art Gallery Square.

The confrontation began when the protesters, initially gathered at the entrance of the municipal office, attempted to march toward the Chaurasta area. Police blocked their path, leading to a chase and counter-chase that lasted nearly an hour and a half.

The students had originally planned to assemble at the Government Boys‍‍` High School playground, but police prevented them from gathering there.

During the protest, the students demanded the immediate and unconditional release of detained coordinators and students, the withdrawal of false cases, an end to repression, the reopening of universities, and justice for the victims of recent violence.
