Dhaka city is going to provide 36 percent of the country`s GDP. South City Corporation is taking initiatives to facilitate business in Dhaka city. Traders of Dhaka South City Corporation can renew their trade licenses and issue new licenses from the special service booth.
DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said this in the opening ceremony of the 5-year trade license issue or renewal facility program for the first time through the 2-week long `trade license service booth establishment` at DCCI building at 10:30 am today.
The mayor said that from now on every year in July for two weeks this trade license service will be given to traders in the form of a booth. Meanwhile, trade permit and its renewal services are being provided online.
He also said that apart from the members of DCCI, any businessman of South City can receive trade license related services at this booth. There is no need to renew the license every year. Traders will get 1 to 5 years to renew the trade permit and it will start from the current financial year.
Referring to the plan adopted to develop Kamrangirchar as a central commercial area, DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh said, “Every city has a central business district or a financial hub. Chawkbazar was established as a financial hub when Dhaka was established. But well-planned urbanization was never thought about Dhaka.”
DCCI President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar said, ``The memorandum of understanding signed today is a significant step between Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Dhaka South City Corporation. The booth set up here through the signing of this MoU will act as a `one stop service` point. Such initiative is a unique example of Public-Private Partnership and thereby strengthens the business facilitation efforts."
After the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between DCCI and Dhaka South City Corporation. Chief executive officer of the corporation Md. Mizanur Rahman and DCCI Secretary General Ansarul Arifin signed the MoU.
Ariful Haque, Chief Revenue Officer of the Corporation and the leaders of the Board of Directors of DCCI were present among others.
