The Directorate of Information has revoked the press accreditation card of a fraudulent journalist due to various irregularities.

The accused, Mohammad Ali (Abir), is the chief reporter for news2narayanganj.com.

On October 2, the Directorate canceled his temporary press accreditation card (number 6435) following a written complaint from the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) dated September 29.

Later, Ali allegedly forged the signature of the Chief Information Officer (PIO) and created a fake press accreditation card with the same number.

In light of this incident, the Department of Information has asked for a written response from the editor and publisher of news2narayanganj.com on Sunday (October 20).

They must provide a reply within seven days of receiving the letter, explaining why the registration of news2narayanganj.com should not be canceled and what administrative measures should be taken against Ali for his actions.
