The low-pressure system that developed over the Bay of Bengal has gradually weakened after moving north and northeastward over Satkhira and surrounding regions.

By Friday evening, it had transformed into a well-marked low and is now located over Sherpur and adjoining parts of Meghalaya.

Due to its influence, widespread rainfall is expected across various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 6 PM Friday.

Heavy (44–88 mm per 24 hours) to very heavy (over 188 mm per 24 hours) rainfall is likely in many areas of Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

This intense rainfall may trigger landslides in the hilly regions of Chattogram, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Bandarban, and Cox’s Bazar. Authorities have issued advisories for residents in these areas to remain vigilant.

Additionally, temporary waterlogging may occur in low-lying areas of Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan zones, potentially causing disruptions to daily life. Local administrations have been advised to stay alert, and the public is urged to take necessary precautions.
