Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called the people of the country to make proper use of their agricultural property.
She said: "Give greater consideration to food security. Whatever agricultural land or water bodies you own, make use of them."
The premier made the call on Thursday while addressing media on her recent UK and the US visits.
She highlighted the importance of ensuring food security in the face of the current economic and environmental challenges.
Calling on her countrymen to utilise every bit of arable land at their disposal, she further said: "Not a single inch of land should go unused."
However, she said Bangladesh’s economy was overcoming the twin crises of the pandemic and the Ukraine war and was able to keep going.
“I can assure you that Bangladesh faces no risks in the long term or medium term,” she added.
“I believe and I can assure everyone that we will be able to achieve our targeted growth rate.”
There are no issues with the budget and the government is working swiftly to complete the most urgent projects, the prime minister said.
