Anita Chowdhury, wife of Square Group founder chairman late Samson H Chowdhury passed away at 1:06 pm on Sunday.
She was 90 years old at the time of her death and under the care of a hospital in the capital.
According to the group’s website, Anita, who has been listed as a sponsor shareholder of Square Pharmaceuticals and the 25 other private limited companies under the group, was the “prime motivation and encouragement” to Samson H Chowdhury for succeeding in business.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed profound shock and sorrow at her death. In a condolence message, the premier prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
