Today is the 102nd birth anniversary of late Justice Abu Sayeed Chowdhury, former president of Bangladesh.
On the occasion, a milad mahfil will be held at Nagbari Jame Mosque in Tangail.
He resigned as vice chancellor of DU on March 15 in 1971. He later played a significant role as a special envoy of the provisional government.
In 1985, he was elected chairman of the UN Human Rights Commission.
Abu Sayeed Choudhury was born on 31 January 1921 in Tangail district. His father Abdul Hamid Choudhury was the speaker of the East Pakistan Provincial Assembly.
