Former West Bengal band Cactus' member Yousuf Saqi Banerjee’s latest album titled ‘Marich’ will be released on his official YouTube channel on August 10. The former lyricist, composer and singer of Cactus has formed a musical supergroup that includes Bengali rock legends like Lakkhichara’s Gaboo, Buti from Cactus, Kendrakar Bumpy, and Sixth Vader Subhro.
The four songs in the album are: 'Kneel Down', 'Parveen Sultana', 'Atto Hottar Gaan’ and 'Marich'.
The first song of the album 'Kneel Down' is coming on the YouTube channel called ‘Yusuf Saki Banerjee’. Bangladeshi actors Dilruba Doel and Sababa Billah are starring in the music video of the song.
The music video was edited by popular Bangladeshi director and internationally acclaimed editor Sameer Ahmed, who recently directed the Bioscope original 'Bou Diaries'.
The album is being produced by Saqi’s wife and acclaimed Bangladeshi film producer Esha Yusuf (‘Guerrilla,’ 'Alpha').
Saqi recently told the press, “I have been working on forming this supergroup since I left Cactus. This team will produce some albums.”
“I shot the upcoming music video from my home because of the current Corona situation. The others in Kolkata have also shot like this, all by themselves.
“So ‘Kneel Down’ down will be a joint collaboration of both Bengals. The music video will also be exceptional. We don't usually see this kind of music video in Bangla rock songs. Hope everybody will enjoy it,” Saqi added.
