Austria and Algeria played out a thrilling 3–3 draw filled with drama, goals, and momentum swings, as both teams secured qualification to the knockout stage. The result also ended Iran’s hopes of advancing further in the tournament.

Austria took the lead in the 27th minute through Marko Arnautović, but Algeria responded just before halftime. In the 45th minute, Rafiq Belghali found the equaliser to make it 1–1 at the break.

Austria regained the lead in the 55th minute when Marcel Sabitzer scored to make it 2–1.

However, Algeria fought back strongly, led by Riyad Mahrez. He levelled the match at 2–2 with a composed finish after a low cross from the right found him unmarked.

In stoppage time, Mahrez struck again, putting Algeria ahead 3–2 and seemingly sending Austria out of the tournament. But Austria refused to give up. In the dying moments, Sasa Kalajdzic scored a dramatic equaliser to make it 3–3.

With the draw, both Austria and Algeria progressed to the knockout stage with enough points, while Iran’s hopes of qualification were officially ended.
