Bangladesh made history as the Tigresses won the first game against Australia in the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 by seven wickets at Benoni on Saturday.
Sumaiya Akter and Dilara Akter’s valiant knocks helped Bangladesh Women`’s U-19 team to win the game.
This is also the first-ever edition of U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup and Bangladesh vs Australia was the opening match of the tournament.
Dilara laid the foundation early in the pursuit of 130 runs after Shorna and Sumaiya guided the team home.
Dilara bagged 40 while Sumaiya and Shorna remained unbeaten on 41 and 13 respectively.
